Always excellent, compassionate care from the entire staff!

I’ve gone to them for years but after my recent experience I will not be returning with any of my animals. We had called them about our kitten injuring his leg and the condition he was in. They should have told us at that point that he needed to go to the emergency room but they didn’t and we took him there anyway. When we got there I had informed the vet tech what side the injury was on, they took him to the back and did his xray when they returned him they placed him LAYING on that injured side and he was already shaking from the pain. The vet then came in and told us we needed to go to the emergency vet as they were not equipped to treat him and prescribe him pain meds and of course we paid the lovely vet fee. On our way to the emergency vet the Warrenton vet called us and told us that the emergency vet wouldn’t be able to do anything because they close at 5. If they told us from the beginning instead of wasting our time and money we could have had him seen sooner and treated. So the next day we spent calling other vets and sharing his X-rays with them to be told that not only did he have a fracture in his leg but also a fracture in his jaw which wasnt mentioned by the vet at this clinic.

Last week I had to make the hardest decision, but the right decision, to put my dog Dallas AKA Dilly Dill, down due to a sudden illness. I knew he was suffering and I couldn't put him through prolonging the inevitable. We met with Dr. Jill Jacobsmeyer early Thursday morning. She examined Dilly and spelled out all of our options. We told her we had already come to terms with letting him go and we were ready to give our loving boy some peace. As my husband and I stood by Dallas, petting him and giving him kisses and snuggles, Dr. Jill was so gentle and professional. She never rushed us and after a few minutes I asked her if he was being stubborn and still holding on. She said No, his heart stopped a few minutes ago but I didn't have the heart to stop you from loving him. She stood there with us letting us tell her how I rescued him from a bad situation and all of the love he had in his life because he was in a safe place. Dr. Jill had tears in her eyes and cried alongside us. She said that it is so beautiful to see a rescue have so much love in their life considering where his life started. I was so touched that Dr. Jill showed us that Warrenton Vet Clinic is not so stiff or without emotion. They are a group of doctors and staff that care for each pet that walks into that door no matter what they are coming in for. Be it a regular check up or for their final breath, they are professional yet personal, the clinic is always clean, and i have always felt heard during my pets appointments. I never felt like I was being rushed or just treated like a money bag when we were helping our boy over the rainbow bridge. I am forever grateful for the kindness and emotions that were shared during his passing. Rest easy my sweet boy, until we meet again.
