Old Webster Animal Hospital

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the poor level of service and care my friend’s dog recently received at Webster Animal Hospital. From the moment we arrived and encountered dismissive service from the front desk staff, the overall experience was unacceptable. During his stay, your staff repeatedly urged my friend to transfer him to another clinic. After keeping him overnight, he was discharged while still actively exhibiting his original symptoms. When my friend brought him back due to visible respiratory distress, your staff referred him to VSS for emergency surgery. However, we were required to drive to VSS ourselves to retrieve an oxygen tank prior to transport, and VSS had not been notified of our arrival. Upon returning to Webster with the oxygen, we were left unattended in an exam room for over 20 minutes before driving the dog to the VSS location in O'Fallon, MO. Upon arriving at VSS, we learned that this procedure is not performed as an emergency surgery and requires a scheduled consultation. And VSS was unaware we were even coming there. Furthermore, the dog urinated on himself twice, indicating he had not been let outside during his care at your facility. Additionally, upon the initial discharge, your staff failed to inform my friend that her dog had bitten a vet tech the night before and that the incident had been reported to animal control. This dog was in visible distress and has no prior history of biting. The lack of care and compassion shown throughout this situation was extremely distressing. I have shared these details with VSS and will not be using your facility in the future. I am bringing these serious lapses in communication, coordination, and basic patient care to your attention so they can be addressed immediately.

Love this place. Kind, compassionate, honest. So good with my high maintenance 110lb German shepard. Great people.

Old Webster Animal Hospital was Dot's vet for the past 5 years. The moment I parked my car in front of Old Webster Animal Hospital, Dot was trying to get out of the visit...she was an intelligent dog that knew we weren't going in for pup cups. The staff always helped Dot stay calm by showing her love. Dr. Davis was always informative and great to work with. Dot tragically passed away, and when I was in a panic, I called Old Webster Animal Hospital, and Michelle helped me figure out what to do. After her passing, we received a card in the mail from Old Webster Animal Hospital that touched our hearts. The message helped give us some relief, and the gesture moved us.
